We arrived at 7.00am from our 7hr greyhound from Port Macquarie feeling a little in need of breakfast and a good cuppa! some how luggage in tow we found a lovely café called Why Not where we got our fix before heading tour beach house-the only accommodation we could find as there was a blues festival going on. The beach house was awesome; it was something you would go to for a honey moon not as a backpacker haha! We even had our own little balcony and pool and sauna was beautiful!
After a much needed nap off we went for a swim and sunbathe on the beach which was very picturesque and relaxing! To top things off when we got back to the beach house we had a sauna before heading out to the notorious Cheeky Monkeys. Since Stu visited the land down under I had heard a lot about this place from the $5 meals, cheap beer and the classic dancing on tables. so we got our $5 meals which were actually pretty good, a free margarita and then $10 jugs of beer all night :) was a pretty good night all in all especially dancing on the tables till the wee hours of the morning! after eventually getting down from the tables we went to the 23hr bakery which again I was at last happy to experience after hear8ng about it from Mr Stu.
After a much needed good night's sleep we awoke to torrential rain and a yummy breakfast before we hiked up to the most Easterly point of Australia umbrella in hand. It was a lovely walk which would have only been nicer if it wasn't for the gale force wind and torrential rain. Arriving at the most Easterly point was beautiful look out where we literally got blow away and could see the storm heading straight for us out at sea.
despite the rain it didn't make me like Byron Bay any less I loved the quirky little shops, cafes, bars and scenery was a lovely little beach side town. So off we went on the next leg of our grey hound adventure, to Surfer Paradise x x
