AIRLIE BEACH/THE WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS

After a night on the very busy overnight bus we arrive in Airlie early in the morning to the sight of fabulous blue skys - we cannot believe our luck as it has been raining solidly here for the last 3 weeks so we thought our Whitsundays trip was going to be a total wash-out.

The rest of our time in Airlie Beach is pretty hazy, as anyone who had every been will understand, it's a bit of a party place so it would be rude not to join in wouldn't it - particularly as we also meet up with our mates from Fraser Island. From the bits we can vaguely recollect our Airlie Beach experience consisted of cracking nights out followed by destroyed days, we have a few fragmented memories... visits to the Lagoon (didn't venture in as it is supposed to be dirty in a pre-clean up Christina Aguilera kind of way) ... Clancy pies, which are the business according to Mark... Mama Africas nightclub and that catchy 'Pictures' tune that we can't get out of our head for the rest of the trip... an apartment in Cannonvale with a hot tub... oh and we almost forgot, there was a trip to The Whitsundays thrown in, which was just beautiful (Whitehaven beach being the highlight), so you better have a look at the photos! Airlie Beach it is always fun but always so very very messy that the place should come with a health-warning. Oh and Enland beat the Aussies at Cricket. Bonus!
