On the top of Mauna Kea is one of the most powerful telescopes in the world and they have many many outer space discoveries from here.

Another great day and a few firsts. We drove from sea level to the top of Mauna Kea, the highest point of Hawaii at 13746ft. Mauna Kea is slightly higher than Mauna Loa which most people have heard of. These are the highest free standing mountains in the world, when you consider about 20,000ft of them are below sea level. Apart from being in aeroplanes this is the highest Sarah has been and the second highest I have been. We had a day of sun with little cloud...

We have had a few walks in pursuit of blowholes, sad as it may seem. Here is one than has worn away and collaped in. The Pacific Ocean crashing in still makes it worth a photo. Tomorrow we head into the mountains seeking active volcanoes. If there is no update tomorrow we may have go to close !!!!! I hear the snow may have gone back with you. I hope it has.

We have seen some great sunsets whilst away. This compares with the best. Again just by our hotel.

Here it sit Broken hearted Got no clubs So walked past it. I have seen far more golf clubs out here than I expected. This par 3 next to our current hotel is as good as most of those we have played in Spain and Portugal (and Northumberland).
