Three planes over 24 hours and we are in an excellent hotel by the sea on the Big Island in Hawaii. Our plan is to visit the big volcanoes and we have an upgraded car for the steep climbs !!! We found an old prospector !!!!! We will do the next pages at the airport. Tomorrow (3 March) will be the longest day of our life. We cross the Date Line so our day will be 46 hours !!!

We have left New Zealand and am having trouble adding new blogs. This is an altered previous one so I hope it publishes. We have left NZ after 3 tremendous weeks and are back in Sydney Airport waiting for our flight to Hawaii. This is picture was me on Hawei Beach the other day and yes I was knocked over by a few waves.

After leaving Rotorua we passed through the world Kiwi growing centre. We still have not seen a real Kiwi.

This is a working gold mine. It is deeper than any opencast mining I have seen in Northumberland. We are now about to go exploring the Coromandel Peninisular so may not be in contact until Sunday.
