6/4 To Cordoba
We get the ferry to BA and walk from there to the bus station to haggle on prices to Cordoba. We tried but no one changed from $505, so we took it. After being scammed a few times, we got some money back from the Argentines. In a cafe I changed $100USD for $800 ARG, the official rate is 1:5.14, not 1:8 so I was happy. I tried with another $100 but I could get it changed anywhere. We caught the bus, watched a movie and slept.
We arrived and wifi'd and looked around the shops trying on clothes until we could head to the one hostel to check-in, nice people and clean but not a 'meeting people' place.
We headed out again to find out Cordoba follows the siesta rules, nothing open from 12:30- 4(most reopened later at 5pm. The second largest city in Argentina was deserted, with more rubbish and dogs than people to own it. When we caught up later with the Germans for beer, tango and empanadas there were lots of people out, from 10-12. Its a weird place like that!
