Arrive at El Galope, met the dogs and cats and 2couples, Mathew and Clair (pom) and (John Pom and Kahlia kiwi) and 2 Americans. Walked to a goat farm, alittle funny going from BA streets to Uruguay countryside. A beer with sunset and a bottle of local plonk with a calzone dinner.... And this dinner was 7:30 and not the BA 10:30 dinner. Stayed up till around midnight talking with the others

Up to a cloudy start, I say this as we really need to do some washing and this was not a good sign. Lazy morning waiting till 4pm till Sarah was due to go riding. At 2-2:20, at the later parts of a lazy lunch, they call people to start prepping their horses. After a new type of saddle, a new riding style and a couple of loops of the dam they all set off, around 4pm. I sat back with a book or game and alternated between them... Only stopping to help fix a fence or two or herding two foles that are going crazy as Sarah has taken their mum. Later a bottle of local red came to join me as I had earnt it with all that work. They all trotted back at 7ish, sore, excited and sufficed. Sarah took Miguel's horse for a spin in the house paddock and the day was done. We settled in for a highlight of the trip, an asado with Miguel and Monica and another night of interesting tales from everyone. This was finished with a shot of uruguayan grappa which was interesting and different. The time here won't be forgotten.
5/4 - happy birthday Brad!!
Last morning in uruguay and El Galope. We headed off to breakfast where i was to try the matte cup for the first time and to offer the Vegemite to others. After conversations when we arrived we know that both the owners love Vegemite (and not marmite). When we went to pay we gave the Vegemite to them. The process of paying took many attempts and in the end i paid via card imprint. Very odd and old. We said good by to the English couple and headed to Colonia to look around the colonial city. We climbed the light house which gives you a great overview of the town, I'd recommend it, it's an amazing spot.
