Hello my sweets!
In Mysore today, just a little stopover on our way from Hampi to Kerala. Really liked Hampi, it was a bit of a hippy paradise! So unlike the other places i've been to! Met one of the most stoned people ever, ooh orange........ fascinated by an incense burner! hehehe! The last day there was cool, took a corocle (think thats how you spell it!) across the river and then walked to a Hanuman Temple. It was up a huge hill but im so glad I pushed myself to do it as the views from the top were stunning! I could see for miles and miles, could see the temple on Hampi bazaar and beyond! The temple itself was pretty cool too. I stayed there for a while and had some chai while I sat with the baba. Decided it was time to leave when they got a huge pipe out tho! Think an American guy who was supposedly walking down straight after me may be living up there after a puff on that! Was cool tho, very peaceful! Saw some monkeys on the way down all jumping off some rocks into a stream having a great time, ive never seen monkeys swim before! Walked back to the river and a really drunk Indian tried to get in our corocle, was well funny! Had a walk to the temple on Hampi bazaar in the afternoon and recieved a blessing from an elephant! Im sure the elephant didnt want to be in the temple but its funny how being here changes your perspective on things (oh god im sounding like one of those arsey pretentious travellers arent I?! So anyway then I got pissed........no only joking!).
Got the over night train to Mysore, saw one of my randomist things yet, a man dressed as a woman got on the train and threatened to strip if the men didnt give him money! Now theres a new one, and it worked, they were practically throwing cash at him!
Mysore is cool, went round the Maharrajahs Palace thos morning, very grand but certainly not the Taj Mahal of the south as someone described it! Went to the market this afternoon, ive never been anywhere so colourful and noisy! Saw all the different insence stalls as Mysore is famous for its Sandalwood. I smell like a bit of a hippy now! Just had a bit of a mad moment, been so hungry as I cant handle the spicy food in the south and just found a supermarket that sold fairly western stuff! Bought a s*** load and sat on the floor outside the supermarket with some Scottich men just devouring it all! Think I may burst! We got some extremely strange looks off the locals, 5 white people sat on the floor shoving pizza and donuts in there mouths! Oh well, had my fix now!
Getting the bus to Kerala tonight which im really loking forward to, doing a backwaters tour and hopefully gona fit in another day on a beautiful beach! I love the cities, they are cool but I feel like my bubble has been burst after Hampi and Goa, think i like the chilled places best!
love love love
