Sara's Travels 05-06
So...last time I wrote I believe it was the day before I was having our official Neighbours day. We had the tour in the morning, where we went to Erinsborough High...which was quite good..although I must admit I didnt recognise a lot of the places there. Maybe you guys could..have a look at the photos! We also went PAST...not actually in the Grundy studios where Lassiters is etc...but again, quite dissappointing as pretty much all you saw was the fence, and a tiny bit of the Lassiters red roof.
Finally we got to go to Pin Oak Court...or RAMSAY STREET baybee!!! Its was sooo surreal, as it is actually really tiny! I never thought I was that much of a fan, but I soon realised I was when I went arround the whole street and was able to say who lived in which house!!! An awesome experience....make sure next time you see the credits for Neighbours...think of me standing in the middle of the street!!(see the pics!).
To top of our Neigghbours day we had the Neighbours evening which was a night at this traditional English pub in St Kildas, where three of the stars of the show come round and meet everyone. We had Conner, Stingray and Dr K...now Ive never been a massive fan opf Dr K, but I can honestly say he rocks!!! Stingray is also adorable! I had such an awesome night...loads of people from the hostel joined us and we had the best laugh. Dickey...on of the lads in the hostel even managed to win a dance off! The night randomly ended at the casino back in Melbourne which was awesome...Kaz brought me back to the Vegas days...but this time I could actually bet, although not much obviously...limited budget etc!
The day after Neighbours day was a well needed recover after all the excitement!!! Although Sal and I did take a trip up to the Melbourne museum, where there was a set of the Robinsons kitchen!!!
The following day which was a Wed (cant remember the date!) was a 'wildlife' day. We went on a tour to Philip Island, where we stopped off at this wildlife park, where there were koalas, tazmanian devils, wombats and we also fed some kangaroos. We also saw an albino wallaby, which is really rare. We then had a walk on a beach on the island, but the highlight of the day was to go to the penguin parade. This is wher at dusk you watch the smallest penguins in the world move from the sea across the shore to their burrows on the shore. They were soo cute and a defo must for those coming to Melbourne!
The next couple of days in Melbourne were quite lazy days really...Chamberlain and I went up the Rialto tower which is the highest in the Southern Hemisphere, which showed an amazing view of Melbourne. To save on some money we also did some walkign tours around the city which was really good...especially as we have been (finally) getting some good weather. One day we also went to Brighton Beach with the guys from McMahons (the hostel we were staying at) and stayed there until sunset...that was really nice!!
