On the 11th Jess, Georgia, Sabrina, Amber, and I got the ferry across to Ko Tao. We found ourselves some cheap accommodation and left our bags in the room while we explored the island. On our exploration we found a gorgeous room, it has air conditioning, TV, DVD player, hot shower, the works! So we went to the first place and told them we had found somewhere else and went to leave. This batty old lady then started chasing us down the road trying to make us pay 300 Baht (6 pounds) because we ‘used the air’ in the room. At first we refused to pay but then she bumped into her sons and they started calling people so we quickly paid 200 baht before things really got out of hand! That evening we went to an Australian style pub and had some really good food before going back and watching ‘Wanted’ (again) in our room!

After a fantastic night sleep we all were having a bit of a lazy day. We went and had some breakfast then went to sit on the beach for a while. The main beach on Ko Tao isn’t really anything special. The water has petrol in from the tail boats and the sand is a bit sludgy but I guess I can’t complain too much about spending the day on the beach! That evening we watched 4 episodes of ‘Gossip girl’ and then went for something to eat. We went to an Italian restaurant called ‘Portobello’ which had such good food! The manager gave us a free assortment of deserts which was really lovely of him. After the meal we went down to ‘Lotus Bar’ and had a drink, then we went back to the room to watch a bit more ‘Gossip girl’.

On the 13th we headed out to Nangyan island. It is 3 small islands joined together by strips of sand, it is a really picturesque place. I spent the majority of the day snorkeling around the bay. The corals around there were incredible they are like nothing I have seen before. At one point I was surrounded by a shoal of fish which weren’t scared of me at all, they were so close to me and kept on swimming into my goggles, one of them even got close enough to bite me on the back of the leg!! That evening we went to “Ban’s” with Kelly, Chantal, and Rachel for something to eat then we went back to Lotus bar for a nice drink and a chat.
