Well after a relatively painless bus and boat journey we arrived in the beautiful Ko Tao for 10am and checked into our accommodation which was a big airy room with balcony and TV. To the beach!!!!! It was a beautiful day so naturally we hit the sand. Matt and Leanne did a bit of snorkling while myself and Neisha topped up our tan. I got a bit too warm but it was OK because i just jumped into the clear blue sea to cool down. Matt and Leanne hired a kayak and went to explore a bit. I got a bit bored reading my book but it was OK because i just went for a swim then sunbathed a bit more aaaahhh bliss! Matt wanted to do some diving here as it is the best island to do it at but with only 2days he just didnt have the time as it takes a minimum of 3days to get your PADI license but he did see some cool fish and chased a pipe fish around for a while.
That evening we were all pretty tired so decided to make use of the DVD player in our room and watched one of the DVD's Leanne bought while in Bangkok - which didn't work properly - and just chilled!
We woke up the next morning to rain :( Met the girls for breakfast and lounged around the bar area for most of the morning, willing the sun the burn the clouds away. It did get a bit brighter in the afternoon but we decided to do some skyping while the weather was bad. That evening we got a boat to take us to the other side of the island where it was busier and basically the main bit to be. Arriving onto the beach we were happy to be staying where we were as it was really busy and not as clean or peaceful as our side. We went to pay the boat driver who quoted us 20b per person, this was actually 200b (£4) but he got mixed up! At least we got to see the island from a different perspective! We all had a Thai meal, spotted some rather fancy ladyboys, Leanne bought a snorkel and we generally had a wander around the area. Then because we had paid so much on the boat we decided a bit of exercise would do us good so we walked back to our beach - the island is pretty small and only took us 30-40 mins. We had drink in the fridge so sat at the girls balcony and had a few drinks and a chat before retiring and getting ready to move on the Ko Phagnan the next day.
