Day 15
Cartegena, Spain
We woke at 8am after a big night. The sun rose at 8:15 (due to Spain being in one timezone), so it was quite dark. The port is inside a natural harbour and there are large hills all around, so it looked quite spectacular.
After breakfast we went off exploring. This would be a similar day to yesterday as we had no tour planned. We walked up a large hill and had commanding views of the port. We also saw an ancient amphitheater as well as old buildings, churches and even a family of peacocks.
After walking back down the other side of the hill we found ourselves in the market area. We did some shopping and also discovered a large statue dedicated to remembering victims of terrorism. We had a coffee at a local cafe and got back on the ship by 12pm.
We had some lunch and Steve went for a swim in the pool on the ship while Donna had a sleep. After the night before we were all tired so I think mosf of us had a sleep during the afternoon.
It was an uneventful evening with an easy dinner at the buffet (no dressing up tonight), before returning back to our cabins for an early night.
Tomorrow is Gibraltar.
