Day 20 - Ibiza
We woke to gloomy skys. The past evening there were thunderstorms and rain. The lightning lit up the sky around the ship and it looked awesome. We waited until we docked at 10am and quickly made our way off the ship to explore the Spanish Island of Ibiza. We got on the shuttle bus and after a 15min drive we were in the heart of the port.
Known for its partying, it has much more to offer. We had a look around the markets, and bought some souvenirs while light rain fell. After about an hour we decided to walk up the hill to the old city. It had an ancient wall around it and after about 20mins the rain really started to come down. Shelter was scarce but after about 10 mins it passed and the sun came out.
We walked the full circuit of the city wall and ended up back at Hard Rock Cafe where we had a drink and a bite to eat. We utilised the free wifi to make a couple of quick calls to family, before heading for a cab.
We decided to head to the main Ibiza beach for a walk and some lunch. The cab driver got on the freeway and hit 130kph (in an 80 zone) so the trip was only about 10mins. Once there we had a walk along the beach before finding a beachside restaurant where we had a couple of drinks and some lunch.
After lunch we hailed another cab and got back to the port. The girls did a bit of shopping while the boys had a beer, and we then found the shuttle back to the ship.
We enjoyed the sail away from our cabins and went up for a buffet dinner. We made it an early night as we are up early tomorrow for Barcelona.
