All good things must come to an end, and once again it was time to pack up and go home. After a final big, Park Lodge special breakfast we loaded up the car and were on our way. Before leaving Tobermory we paused for a quick look round the shops and a visit to the famous Distillery shop which had been closed over the weekend, then set off for Craignure and the ferry back to Oban. We couldn't help noticing that the weather was greatly improved. Instead of the chill wind, grey skies and rain of the past few days we had blue skies and sunshine and it was really warm! We really hope this doesn't mean that Mull was pleased to be saying goodbye to all those visiting Macleans!!

Never mind, we had a fantastic time in spite of the weather and at least we didn't suffer from sunburn. The ferry trip back was absolutely gorgeous. We sat up on deck the whole time admiring the views and the sunlight sparkling on the flat calm water. I took many more photos of Duart Castle. Unlike on the journey over last Thursday, today it was resplendent in the sunshine.

Back in Oban we re-visited our favourite coffee shop and sat outside to eat our lunch. Afterwards we treated ourselves to an ice-cream before the journey back to Glasgow. It was a lovely drive via Inveraray where we paused for another reviving snack. We drove along the edge of Loch Fyne and past the famous Oyster restaurant where we had a wonderful lunch on our visit a couple of years ago. As we drew near to Glasgow airport we experienced some serious traffic jams which had us a bit worried as to whether or not we would get there in time but luckily the traffic cleared and all was well.

Another happy and successful trip comes to an end. Where shall we go next??
