We got up and packed up for the last time on this trip. We headed out in search of some lunch before our departure. It was very, very chilly and some snowflakes were in the air and landing on our jackets. We popped inside a building over the subway and found one of many local lunch haunts, this one call SLOW CAFE (in busy town) ... very cute and very Japanese! We had a fabulous set lunch with miso soup and the most amazing main which seemed very like a scotch egg...

We eventually got out around midday and purchased another one day, amazing value, city bus pass. Our first stop, after many wrong buses and wrong turnings, was Kyoto Station. This place is absolutely huge! Very modern architecture, glass and stainless steel. We enjoyed the little penguins statue! Our last day in Hanoi but still plenty of time as we are not leaving until the evening. After breakfast we packed up and checked out. Leaving our bags with the concierge we set out to enjoy our last few hours in Hanoi. We stepped outside the hotel into blazing sunshine and were hit by the intense heat. After a very nice buffet breakfast at the hotel we stepped out into the busy street and headed, once again, towards Hoan Kiem Lake. As before we found that all the streets around the lake were closed off and pedestrianised allowing people of all ages to wander freely enjoying their Sunday without danger from traffic while young children and young people played games such as street hockey in the middle of the wide roads.
