We arrived to our hostel in Nha Trang about 6.30am on the 5th...luckily the bus journey was a bit better this time!
The hostel staff were the friendliest we've met so far and we had yet another amazing breakfast,on the roof top. We were already won over!
We headed out to the beach with Sam and Clare.. Officially our new travel buddies. Where we are staying is a bit Magaluf-esque and 2 minutes down the road is the American-style beach full of luxury hotels. We spent a few hours playing around on a skim board we borrowed from the hostel and sunbathing. When we were starting to look like lobsters under the scorching sun we decided it was time for lunch.
It took a while to find somewhere to eat as most menus were in Russian and very overpriced..Nha Trang seems to be a top holiday destination for Russians! We eventually found a dated looking Vietnamese restaurant with a cheap menu (much more to our budget). The food turned out to be incredible.. We had definitely found a hidden treasure.
That evening we headed to the night market with our travel buddies. Nothing much to report on this but the walk to get there was pretty cool. The beach was full of Vietnamese families having BBQs!
We had dinner, which turned into quite a few drinks. Why Not Bar turned out to be the place to be and we were joined by various people we have met along the way. A great night, ending with another dance off, against a group of Vietnamese people this time!
Oh and then we ended up having a sleepover as Sam and Clare had a private room with two double beds.. This was much more appealing than the bunk beds in our dorm!
The next day we headed to Vinpearl.. An Island that you get to via cable car. Sam (fact king) later informed us that this is the longest over water cable car in the world! Once there you have access to everything... A theme park, water park, beautiful beach (white sands, clear water) and an aquarium. We first headed to the water park. Samuel managed to get an injury from the first slide we went on and had to attend the first aid clinic! In the evening we then went to watch a dolphin show and made a visit to the impressive aquarium. By the time we headed back to the main land it was dark and the place looked pretty incredible all lit up!
Starving, we headed straight back to our new favourite restaurant for dinner. Again it did not disappoint. This was followed by another sleepover...our bunk beds ended up being completely un slept in!
Today consisted mainly of travelling to Dalat. The views along the way were cool, making the bus journey much more enjoyable. We arrived at our hostel (more like a grand hotel and for just £12.50 a night) but couldn't check in for an hour. This was no problem at all as we got to enjoy the roof top jacuzzi whilst we waited! We have booked to go canyoning tomorrow :)
