So today we are sadly leaving Hoi An after spending 4 nights here.
On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by our hostel which was definitely more like a hotel. The rooms were really nice, really cool bar area with a pool table and a swimming pool..much needed in this heat! The highlight of the hostel is definitely the 'all you can eat' buffet breakfast, you can imagine Jazz and I taking full advantage!
The first day we just chilled around the pool, saying that, that's pretty much all we've done in Hoi An, it's felt like we've been on a holiday within a holiday.
That night we were having a few drinks with 2 lads we met on our Halong Bay trip, a cool couple (Sam and Claire) and a guy we met here. We ended up being convinced to go out, out (Mickey Flanagan fans) and ended up in a place called the why not bar. 100,000 dong for all you can drink which is roughly £2.80! The night started so well, massive dance off..Boys vs Girls, I helped the girls out and of course we dominated. I dropped a few moves and it was all over...caaaching! We had a really good night and let's just say Jazz took full advantage of the all you can drink, thanks Claire!
The next day was not so good and not a lot to report other than, us vegging out and feeling sorry for ourselves! The evening was much better. We took a stroll into the town...I think the best way to describe it would be the same way you'd describe me..charming! ;) We had a mooch about and I ended up getting 2 shirts made and some leather flip flops. Jazz also got some sandals made. It's very addictive though so good job Jazz was there to pull the reigns! We had a lovely dinner on a balcony, overlooking the river..very romantic!
The following day we ventured down to the beach and met a little friend we called Derek, very cute! You'll have to check out the pics to find out who he is, or she is as we found out!
That night we had an amazing curry that was recommended to us- thanks Anna and Carolyn!
The rest of our time here we've pretty much spent chilling, eating and drinking!
On our second day here the American girls, Anna and Carloyn that we rode to Pai with were sunbathing around the pool...we didn't even know they were coming to Hoi An so that was a nice surprise. So last night we arranged to go to cafe 43 for dinner (thanks Anna and Pete), we had a lovely catch up with some great food and cheap drinks..8p for a beer! After we found the best ice cream place. Pudding cost more than the meal but was worth it for sure!!
Hoi An is up there with our favourite places so far. I think it's been a mix of the place and the people we've met but it's definitely fulfilled our expectations!
Next stop is Nha Trang, our bus leaves tonight. A few other people from the hostel are joining us :)
