We arrived safe and sound in Guilin. Met our guide and driver for the next two days. Checked out the main centre of Guilin and saw the pagodas in the picture (but it was daytime). We have just been down to the night markets which was really interesting and ate some strange delicacies. Hardly anyone speaks english so communication is interesting - having to resort to sign language which results in some surprises! Everyone gives you tea so we have had about twenty cups of tea today. Got reflexology foot massages which was painful but good. For tiny Chinese women, they are pretty strong! Tomorrow we are going on a river cruise on the famous Li River. There are crazy high limestone mountains with steep sides - should get some great photos. Not sure when we will update next but hopefully will get the chance in a few days. Ciao for now.
