Haast

I'm still to this day not entirely sure why i stopped here , i just wanted to break the journey up. And to be fair it is good to get to a place and rest for a bit anyway. It is a beautiful spot on the edge of the stunning national park nad has a lovely glaciel river though the town well its not really a town is very small with nothing much going on, unless you want to pay through your nose to go on a heli flight.

the chap at the hostel was very friendlly though and it was a very nice hostel , i only stayed there for one night anyway . I took a couple of short walks along the river which did have lovely views and i generally just relaxed and caught up with my scrap book thingy etc...

a stunning place if i had had the time and inclination to do some serius tramping or if i had had a car to get out to the beach which i though hmay have been a little closer in future maybe i really should plan and research a little more. Anyhow the next day i was off to Fox Glacier.
