Sam the all star Trecker
Hi guys, well writing this a little after the event but think I remember everything! How could I forget? Arrived on the 22nd and me and Vic checked inot our super cheap but dodgey accom. Hey we have to save the pennies somewhere. That night we walked around and went for a drink down in Darling Harbour and met up with the very drunk Nicky and Martin. The place was very exciting and busy. Had a few glasses of wine and then I started the next day by walking around the city looking for the best deals for accom for me and Adam to stay in. I dont know how I managed it (lots of blinking eyelids and cheeky requests I think) but managed to get us a luxury 5star apartment with everything a person could need, for such a bargain price( I also think the manager felt sorry for me when I found out Adams plane was delayed!). We had a lovely balcony looking over Darlingharbour and luxury lounge, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom (yes with a bath...wow) and even utility room with washing machine and dryer (can you tell I was excited). Anyway I found out after booking in that Adam wasn't now getting in til the following morning. Gutted as dying to see him but I utilised the time by inviting Dan, Claire and Vic over for a nice roast dinner (everyone was in well need of one...i miss my mums so bad). Well next day met Adam at the airport after hours of thinking that everyone who walked through was him. I was just soo excited to see him so everything was a bit of a blurr after that but he loved our little penthouse apartment!!! We went to the Aquarium which was cool and that night we met up with everyone at their hostel and had a bbq on the rooftop looking over the city followed by a mad night out drinking! Had such a wicked time and it wasn't long before Adam felt quite at home with the lads forcing pints of beer down their throat. Had an amazing night and the next day after a lot of persuading Adam to get out of bed (he felt a little rough bless him after his mad drinking fest), we met with the others for the dodgiest chinese in China Town and then in the evening me and Ad headed for the Opera House. It was just as I imagined and was lovely all lit up at night. Not sure how but then we ended up in the Posh Opera Quays restaurant eating and rinking a 7 course menu with a wine which complimented each course. It was amazing we started with Oysters but not entirely sure what the other courses or the wines were. We did get told by experts in every area but I think it just went over our heads! Anyway probably about 2 hours later full and very drunk we headed back. The following day we caught a scenic ferry around the opera house and wondered around the area known as the rocks. It was lovely and saw the madest street performer. That night we went to the Opera House and saw David Cambell, a guy who sang songs by the likes of Sammy Davis J. To be honest I didn't think I would like it and that it was more of Adam's kind of thing but it absolutely wowed me and I left wiping a tear from my eye. He was amazing and it was such a great night. The next day I managed to drag Adam up the Observation Tower which looked over Sydney. It was quite funny as had to watch this funny video thing about Oz and go on a simulator. The views were amazing though. That night me and Adam headed for the Casino but got preoccupied on the way by a Kareoke night!! Well I think anyone who knows me well enough could guess what came next. However it was so great to actually be joined by someone else who is willing to participate in the event. Me and Adam were soon up there together singing ' a whole new world' and truly entertained the whole pub. Adam was such a hogger though and kept singing all my lines (have to sort that out stright away:-). We made it to the Casino hours later and very drunk which probably explains why Adam literally gave his money away. On the Friday we took a trip to Bondi beach which I am sure would have usually been lovely if it was hot but curling up on a beach wearing jeans and a jumper trying to pretend I am not freezing to death isn't all that great so our trip there wasn't very long. Once again we utilised the evening well and Adam took me as a surprise to the most gorgeous restaurant at the rocks called Wildfire. It was once again amazing and he completely wowed me. Sydney was absolutely amazing with all the things you could do and its splendid sights around Darling Harbour and the Rocks however was just too cold for me and Adam so the next day we hopped in a Campervan and headed back up to Byron Bay for the sunshine.
