Sam the all star Trecker
The arrival at Fiji was great. After being in Oz for soo long is was so nice to be somewhere completely different. With a different culture to us and surroundings. It reminded me a lot like Thailand and the people were so friendly and would do anything for you!Hannah had been staying with the coach of the New Zealand All Blacks (rugby team for those who don't know) and had also managed to get us hooked up with the Coach of the Fijian Rugby team who put us up all expenses paid in the nicest 5 star hotel on the island. We sat that night in our lovely hotel room with him and drank the mini bar dry while talking about rugby (I tried my hardest Hannah W!!) and also trying to get some free tickets! We did wonder whether the next day there may be a newspaper article out 'Fijian Coach takes three English Girls to Hotel Room!!!' Hey but all fun!
The next day we hopped on our all expenses paid transfer via boat to Beachcomber (one of the many islands and apparently the party island) and checked into the only accom on the island, a dorm which slept 103 people. It was hilarious. Still very grateful for this all being paid by Wayne (the Fijian Coach). That night we did some hula dancing to the Bula Bula song and the following day headed to a new Island called Malolo. Wayne had also sorted this for us so we were to stay with his friend, ex All black and Fijian coach Brad Johnson! We arrived and realised that we were the only people on the island other than obviously Brad and a load of people that worked there. So we got treated like royalty for a few nights but headed back to the Mainland on the Sat.
Fiji was just wonderful and beautiful with its clear waters and culture however Han headed to Hawaii on the Fri and me and Vic were keen to get to LA so we stayed on the mainland for a couple of nights and went to church with the crazy people (get me)and did some more dancing before heading off to LA a couple of days earlier!
