Samantha's Travels
Hi Everyone
I have spent the past few days doing lots of game viewing in the Masai Mara and Serengeti.
It was absolutely fantastic to see all the animals in the wild, although at times felt a little scary being so close to them as we camped in both parks and had elephants and hyenas and warthogs come into the camps.
I was amazed to see that the places you camp in do not have any fences or anything to keep the animals out, so going to the toilet during the night is a dicey business!
However, none of us were eaten by anything, although you could hear the grunts of the animals outside your tent. I was a bit worried that one of the elephants may step on the tent without seeing it, but fortunately that did not happen too.
I had a great day on a hot air balloon in the Masai Mara and saw the sunrise before having a champayne breakfast complete with full English, cups of tea, Bloody Mary and croissants to boot. It was very strange sitting at a dinner table in the middle of the Masai Mara being served breakfast whilst seeing the animals watching you from a distance.
We also arrived at the parks in time for the Great Migration and saw thousands of wildebeest running around.
We saw loads of lions, zebras, hippos, elephants, giraffes, wart hogs and even a leopard!
However, am now off to Zanzibar for some relaxation on a beach. It's a hard life!
