Madrid for the day! Why not?
We have a eurail pass and we realized that we wouldn't use all our trips if we don't do a few short trips so we decided to go to Madrid for the day. We are traveling first class in a very fast train through Spain. Currently going 299km/hr
Spanish first class is pretty posh, They give you earphones, offer you a paper - if only we could read Spanish, and wait for it.. We had breakfast served. We are a plane on the ground! So cool. If only we could travel Melbourne to Sydney in 3 hours.
So a day in Madrid was quite well spent. We visited the Plaza Mayor, walked though the old city, then we went to see a Marc Chagall exhibition, and then a heap of extra famous old paintings. Then even though our feet were really sore we went to the botanic gardens and some other huge park. Sadly the Spanish don't believe in actually going on the grass, it is just for looking at! No picnics in the gardens for them.
Back on the train. A bit of low flying for us tonight.

Pattie I echo Pam's comments :) and love reading your blogs and travelling vicariously with you and your photos.(must say I now really want to see Gaudi's work in the real rather than just photos)
sally Thankyou all for your comments, yes seeing Gaudi's work in real life is definitely worth it. More photos to come as I have been inside the Gaudi buildings now!! Amazing and Mum, you would love it
