Barcelona a city that doesn't seem to sleep and so many people. Beneath our apartment block there are several bars that really get pumping from around 2 pm and keep going ( unless the police arrive or it is raining) until dawn. My earplugs have been useful here. Large numbers of people stand around leaning against posts for hours on end.... I'm not assuming I know what they are waiting for.....
We have done 2 really good guided walks with a company called runner bean walking tours. They are essentially free - you just give a donation at the end. They were fantastic - very informative. We did the Gaudi tour and the old city tour. We are certainly learning history!
Ah Gaudi - so amazing, such an eccentric and creative soul. I love his work even more now I have seen it.
We went to a guitar concert last night of an amazing guitarist. Beautiful and so cultured of us.
On this trip we have been trying to eat food particular to the area. In Barcelona we found the market - so glad I normally market shop, it makes it so familiar. We have had a sangria, tapas, paella, beautiful fresh fruit, good coffee at last - the French coffee was too weak!
We have found little squares with farmers markets and art markets, cafes to sit in to have a break and watch the world ( literally) go by.
We walked down to the port and walked on the sand of the Mediterranean ! It was a little too chilly to go for a swim. We are hoping the weather warms up soon.

Binni I'm so glad you at having such a wonderful time...and your blogs paint the pictures so well...I'm enjoying traveling vicariously. Had nice dinner at the pub w Jacob and phoebe and Al last night.
Meg Gaudi.... Jealous! You make me wish to go here (with my earplugs). Food, music, gaudi and the mediteranean; all wonderful.
