Brisbane is a real quiet relaxed city, with not a lot to do really. Even the night life was pretty dull, although it was only week nights I was there, but still. Most the clubs that we found that were open on week nights were 'gay and gay friendly' bars and the guys werent up for it! Surfers was like a bigger version of Byron, but no where near as good!! It was just way too full on. Like the whole time I was there it felt like you had to go out and get wasted every night. Which was true cause there was nothing else to do really. The nights out where good, but I didnt think that it had the same good atmoshere as Byron. I met a few good people here too. I left Sydney and took a 13 hr night bus to Byron Bay. I was really anxious about arriving there as this was the 1st place I was arriving on my own. Was really exciting too a real feeling of indipendance. I really enjoyed Byron bay, its gotta be on of my frav places, I enjoyed it so much that I went twice. I got to Sydney on 19 May and spent 5 days just seeing the city. The 1st thing I did was go up the Sydney Tower. Its 250 meters high and has an observatory deck with windows all around so you get a 360 veiw of the city, which is pretty cool as it helped me get my barings and see where I was going next! I went to the chiense Gardens of friendship and the sydney Aquarium next. I went over to the zoo and saw loads of cool aussie animals like koalas and kangaroo...
