Sometimes things just fall into your lap and you just have to enjoy and take advantage of it. Take today as a case in point. Yesterday we had decided to spend a second night in Nelsons Bay. Based on this decision, Denise and I booked a short tour of the Stockton Beach Sand Dunes for early this morning. We had steaks at the Hog's Breath Cafe. Actually, they were really good considering we stein a fish town. But we've had fish our last 4 meals and wanted something different. Right now we're sitting under a tree on the waterfront, listening to blues coming from a nearby bar (and eating ice cream, of course - had to save some room). However the music is almost drowned out by the noise of the lorikeets coming from the tree above us. There must be thousands of birds...

One of the beaches in Nelson Bay. We arrived just before supper time, had a swim and walked uptown, just 5 minutes from the motel. Very pretty here and a great sheltered bay. Lots of restaurants and shoppes.
