22:00 - We left La Paz this morning at 7.30. At 7.15 Sally was missing and as she normally wizzies about way before any of us to make sure we are all ok, we decided to call her room and the unthinkable had happened! After 3 years of tourleading she had messed up with the alarm and was still in bed :-). No big deal as she was ready in about 8 minutes flat. And as we were about to depart Phil realised he hadn't paid the bill... :-)... Not as smooth as some of our other departures. Still, off we went and by 11.30, after crossing a bottleneck on the Titicaca lake and being serenaded again by the Bolivian Navy (not the army for once), we arrived in Copacabana, which gives it's name to the famous beach in Rio. It was some sort of festival, so at the cathedrals cars were queing up to be blessed and the locals were singing and dancing... But most of all drinking. We had a look around, I took way too many pictures as usual, had lunch on the terrace of the sister hotel to the one we stayed in la Paz, and then left for Puno. About 10 minutes from Copacabana is the border with Perù. The formalities were quickly dealt with. And we left Bolivia for Perù. We arrived in Puno a couple of hours later and after checking into our hotel, I went out for a quick look around. Puno is not a small town but the main squares are two and there is one pedestrianised street... Not much. I bumped into Matthew and Harriet (from my group), and after catching up also with Chris and Mary, we went for a drink before retiring to our rooms for a shower before dinner. We met at 7.15 in the lobby with everyone and after a few notes about tomorrow's activities, we went for dinner in a local restaurant. We had a laugh and we were also joined by a lonely travelling girl we had met on the bus earlier in the day. Mainly we took the mickey out of Sally. And...good news...Perù is the home for pisco sour! So guess what, we had some to start dinner off!
