15:00 - The peña dinner last night was fun. Local music and then dances and costumes that would normally take place during the carnival. I was not overly impressed by my llama skewer but at least I can say I have eaten llama meat.
Today, a day of complete relaxation today...by mistake :-). I was supposed to go to an optional half day excursion to Tiwanaku but I switched off my alarm and carried on sleeping. Imagine my surprise when the phone rang at 8am asking where I was!!! The options were: get ready in a geat hurry, skip breakfast and go OR stay in bed a while longer and take it easy for the day. We have a 6 hour bus ride tomorrow. So, I stayed in bed. Had a lovely breakfast in our even more lovely hotel and then went to have my shoulder looked at by a professional and got an antiflammatory injection. I then read a bit, went for lunch at '100% Naturally' again (same place as yesterday) and I am now back in my room showering and resting before meeting the others on the roof of our hotel for an aperitif and then dinner. The shoulder feels a lot better and I am impressed with the promptness and professionalism of my bolivian doctor. I'm looking forward to getting to lake Titicaca tomorrow.
22:40 - The view from the top of the hotel is great. You can see the hillside of La Paz covered in houses. As we were having our drinks fireworks went off as the sun set. Sally laid out our program for tomorrow: bus, boat, bus. Destination lake Titicaca. About six hours in total travel to get to Puno. Lunchtime we will spend in Copacabana, a small town that has given its name to one of the beaches in Rio.
