19:30 - This morning I woke up just before breakfast finished so I rushed down and then came back to bed. I sorted out and uploaded the pictures from the four days on Easter Island. I also arranged to go on a city tour in the afternoon as I didn't have time to take a proper look around the last time. At around 1pm I finally got dressed and went for a quick lunch before being picked up. Our guide Sam was pretty knowledgeable and it was a lovely afternoon. La Moned...

22:30 - Today I left Easter Island. I was a bit sad to be going and wish it was closer so that I could rationally think of going back...but I am guessing its remotness is part of what makes it special. After breakfast I went off to the Correo (Post Office) to get my passport stamped with an Easter Island stamp :-). After which as I still had the scooter, I drove around town, went down to the two tiny harbours, stopped and took a couple of last minute pictures... ...

23:00 - It's mother's day in the UK, so, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mummys reading. The weather this morning was glorious! It's been cloudy for the whole of my stay here and finally I saw blue skies :-))). Today was my last full day on Easter Island. Tomorrow I leave :-(. 21:00 - It's been a pretty amazing day. Nothing makes me happier than having a guide fill me with meaningful information! We went to Vaihu, Akahanga, Hanga Tetenga, Tongariki 15 restored Moai), Rano Raraku (the cave where the Moai were sculpted), Te Pito Kura and Anakena (6 pretty amazingly kept Moai still with their pukaos on - pukao is like a hat on top of the Moai but it represents his hair). 18:45 - Breakfast gets served to the room here in Tea Nui :-), which is very nice indeed. I got picked up at aound 9.30 for the first of two tours today. Sabina (the guide) took us around the Akivi Moai's in the morning and Orongo in the afternoon. I took myself off for lunch in a shack overlooking the sea and had tuna ceviche (again).
