00:00 - I spent this morning on Copacabana beach relaxing and people watching. At around 12 I went back to the hotel to shower and check out. Pick up for the airport was not until 3.30 so I did some last minute shopping (I am keeping the shopping to a minimum due to a space and weight if luggage situation :-) ) and spent an hour in a cyber cafè filling out an online form for background checks for my new employer (not really fun but had to be done). The driver and guide turned up right on time and the flight was equally punctual. I landed here in Santiago at around 11pm (it's about 3k kilometres from Rio so it takes around 4 hours and a bit). All I had to do is cross the road and my room at the Holiday Inn was waiting for me :-). It's the best room bar none I have had for the whole of the trip! I was a little peckish as I gadn't eaten lunch today so I pigged out on a club sandwich thanks to the lovely people from room service. I leave tomorrow morning for Easter Island.
