23:00 - Travel day today! We left late (11.45) for the airport so that we could flybto Buenos Aires, the city where my South American holiday started just iver a month ago. When I got up I told Sunitta that this had been our last night sharing and she sort of panicked. She has another 2 weeks left and will be on her own. She started hassling me about sharing transfers to the airport and excursions at Iguazu (we will be there at the same time). Me and the terrible trio went for a walk down at the docks before we left. It was cloudy but warmish and we sat around chatting. There was talks of flights back to the UK so I guess the enchantment is broken and everyone has their mind projected towards the end, now that we are 3 days away from it. For all but 3 is the end but for me is the end of part of the trip. I am lucky enough to have made some friends (I think), and will be a little sad to carry on without them.
The flight was pretty much in time and we landed in Buenos Aires at 17.00. By the time we collected our luggage and got to our new hotel it was 18.15. From now on I don't share a room anymore!!! I paid for a little upgrade so that the final nights in Buenos Aires are in a single room. And for the reminder if the trip I will no longer be sharing. After 18 days if sharing with the princess that had to gob for 15 minutes every morning, it is nice to have room to oneself! I know it is not the same as being back home but at least I have a little added comfort. Talking of home, after 6 weeks of leaving out of a suitcase, I am definately starting to miss it :-)! And not just my home, my friends and family too. But it I am over the half way mark and some of the places I have left to visit are out pretty special and worth the sacrifice.
We met for dinner and ate in the dock area. We ate in a place called Sorrento. Mine and Karen's food arrived about half an hour after the rest of the group's...pretty poor...and my meat was overcooked! Still, we had the usual split: wrinklies one end of the table with Lisa and the rest of us on the other. We laughed and joked. I have not had a good day as I had had to pay for excess luggage at the airport, and Linda took the mickey a bit.
We have a half day city tour tomorrow (which I have already done with Sally on the previous tour) and are meeting at 9.
