Arrived in Melbourne and after dropping off the van stayed with Anand and Kelly in thier house for a week. Anand is the guy who got Sally her job out here - what a guy! Like Sally he is an anethst . . .anastetic. . . he is a doctor! and he seems to spend all of his money on toys - the garage was full of stuff like kyaks and other beach toys, bikes, a scooter, a Harley Davidson etc so t'was all good fun!

They live out in the suburbs so we spent a lot of time on the train travelling into the city to check out flats and potential living areas. Some really nice areas but we concentrated our efforts around places on the train line so Sally can get to her work.

Looked at three places, all were nice in different ways but eventually moved into a house in an area called South Yarra just 2mins walk from the train station. Sharing with 2 guys: our landlord Mitch from London, and a French guy called Eric. Both seemed pretty cool on first impressions but we have been here a week now we have started to realise that Mitch has some serious issues with cleaning. We have had frequent lectures and 'chats' about which way round to hang the bathmat, how to squeeze out a sponge correctly after use, not moving the angle of the shower head, where each dish should be placed in the drying rack, and of course fluffing the cushions correctly in the living room!!!!!
