Happy 2009 to all of you warm and cold.
We are in Queenstown at the moment, have been here for a day and plan to spend a couple more before moving on to M
Our New years was a quietish affair in Greymouth (which was how I felt in the morning ironically), in our cosy hostel. Met some cool kiwis from Wellington who have invited us to stay. Don't worry sis they didnt seem like serial killers.
WE did loads of travelling up and down the west coast in the last week. From the north in Karemea where we walked the Opapara basin and saw the spectacular Mirror Tarn( a small lake), to the pancakes and blowhole and seal colonies around Westpoint. Down through the Hokitikka Gorge and the site of NZ's biggest man hunt.
We also stopped off at Franz and Fox Glaciers but Fox was closed due to bad weather. The roads here are truely a marvellous driving experience. Almost like being in a computer game, and the One lane bridges are amazing to play chicken on.
Lake Wanaka has been a beautiful place to spensd a few days in even more glorious surroundings (Thanks Aimee, lake Wanaka says hello back). The totally cool cinema paradiso and the outdoor screening of Mamma Mia were different sides of the scale.
Hope you are all having a great year so far and are enjoying the gym etc. Thankyou all so much for the xmas and new year wishes. And a special thankyou to June and the Vans fro their concerted messaging effort- Love it!
Byeeee
