Hello to all the lovely people, rich and poor, short and tall.

Since leaving Queenstown, we have travelled right the way down the west coast, took a left through Invercargill and carried on up the coast, to a little place just outside Dunedin all in the space of a little over a week.

Our last day in Queenstown we went up the cable car, did some lugeing down the slopes. Played a bit of frisbee golf in the park, a great way to walk around, and tried not to get blown over as it was quite windy the last two days in QT.

Heading toward Te Anua, where we stayed over night so we could get an early trip on Milford Sound to avoid all the tourists (such a nuisance). Unfortunately it rained, hard, all night and on the moring we went out into Milford sound (which is trechnically a Fiord not a sound), but ths made for spectacular waterfalls and overflowing rivers.

Heading south we stopped at Manapouri and the best backpackers accomadation at Freestones. Your own little log cabins, so we stayed an extra day in this peaceful spot. Invercargill was next on the list, and people say NZ is like a little Britain, well here its just like the TV show. I havent seen a lot of Little Britain but the bits I have were all present here. Even the hostel was run by two rather special men who insited on turning off the TV so we could all stand outside around a fire, and they could wear their miners hats???

Its the earliest I've ever seen Jo wake up so we left Invcar and headed into the Catlins, with its plentitude of waterfalls and cliff edges and sea lions, and places called Kaka and shag point.

Otago has some of the best scenery without mountains, and the wildlife(little that NZ has) is abundent here. In Dunedin last night we saw Yellow eyed and Little Penguins and Albatros, as well as more sea lions.

We will be now making our way back inland to see Mt Cook and then back to Christchurch where we will pick up a campervan and ditch the car.
