One day of racing left then off to Germany. The weather here has been exceptional and yesterday I watched the racing from the mountain section and got sunburnt. Most unexpected. The days here are long. Sunrise at 4ish and sunset at around 10ish, with long periods of twilight. Today I went to post a helmet I won in a raffle home but the cost was too high for something I would not be allowed to wear at home anyway, so I gave it to oxfam. Easy come easy go. Looking forward to a departure from British food. It's crap. Deep fried starch and carbs on the side. Managed to find a good Thai place which was a nice change. Left the group today to get ready for the next leg. Bought some souvenirs and looked at all the pasty soap dodgers lying around in the warm sunshine. If the weather stays like this, I will be very pleased. It is meant to be flooding in the south of Germany at the moment so fingers crossed it will all be over before I head that way.
