Another scorcher today. Cloudy but still 31 degrees. Headed west out of St Louis On the interstate and rejoined the 66 where it hadn't been tarmaced over. Had a look around Springfield this morning. As its the birth place of Honest Abe Lincoln, the town, which is a bit of a s*** hole by the way, is still living off his fame. Chicago to Springfield. Followed the old road today. Went through some amazing small towns on the way, and spotted a number of historic 66 landmarks. The most famous for this section is a 25' fibregalss attraction called the Gemini giant, one of only 3 left ,made to attract travellers into the adjacent diner.
