Chicago to Springfield. Followed the old road today. Went through some amazing small towns on the way, and spotted a number of historic 66 landmarks. The most famous for this section is a 25' fibregalss attraction called the Gemini giant, one of only 3 left ,made to attract travellers into the adjacent diner. He's a bit of a legend in Wilmington, but despite this I couldnt help but leg hump him, ( see pic), much to the horror of the patrons at the garage opposite...

Explored the city today. Saw Al Capones office, Sears tower, Millenium park, and of course, Anish Kapoors sculpture in the park, Cloud Gate. Which was absolutely beautiful and awe inspiring. ( the locals call it the bean) Saw the cops stop a car at gun point and haul the driver out in front of our tour bus. Amaze balls. Off to the White Sox v Yankees baseball game tonight. Cant wait. Went to Cellular field tonight to see the White sox play the Yankees. It was a brilliant night. 20,000 booing A-Rod (Yankees)every time he came in to bat ( Just been done today for performance enhancing drugs.) . Loved it. Hot dogs and beer all evening. Sox won 10-0. On the road tomorrow (66). To springfield.

Flight was fantastic. We had our own individual pods which convert into 6' beds if you need to. There was even a Full size bar behind us that you could stand/ sit at if you wanted to stretch your legs. ( and drink!). Had to keep off the sauce as was driving when we get to the windy city. Cruise on lake mitchigan was very cool. Saw all the notable buildings and coastline . V tired. Long day. Heard the 80's band The Cure performing at lollapalooza, Chicago's music fest. Very cool.
