Today we had a mystery tour called Romahue. We were given no info about it and were vaguely expecting to see the lakes and possibly a museum. The driver who picked us up spoke no English and so we were none the wiser. A new drink but will it catch on? As you know, the English like their tea with milk and Sue is very particular in this respect. Many places in Chile do not have milk so we have black tea. At Santiago airport whilst changing planes Sue thought she had cracked it when she saw tea with milk on the menu. This duly arrived and turned out to be hot frothy milk with a tea bag, a sort of teapachino! It tasted as bad as it sounds.

Up at 4am this morning to be picked up and driven for an hour and a half in a bus up to Tatia geyser in the dark to capture the sun rise and see the geysers at their best. The highest point was 14,025 feet. At this height walking around is hard work due to the lack of oxygen. An early start again, in the morning we went to see the ruins of an ancient village built over 2,000 years ago and abandoned 1,200 years ago when climate change caused the area to dry up. It was a set of interconnecting adobe huts. After that we visited the museum in San Pedro.
