Howdy y'all!
Its been a little while again since we last wrote on the blog. We have been busy making our way up the east coast of Austrailia!
Sydney was amazing and we'd definately like to go back one day. The day after we went to Manly we went to the Sydney aquarium which was pretty cool. They had an Oceanarium tank filled with shark and Manta rays and massive sea turtles and another tank filled with hundreds of species from the barrier reef.
Then the day after that we went to the wildlife world and the sydney tower. At wildlidfe world we saw koalas and womats and possums for the first time! I was very excited! Up in the tower high above most of the skyscrpaers Rob snapped away with his camera and we waited until sunset so he could take some of the city at night aswel.
I think one of the big highlights of sydney was the Bridgeclimb on Harbour bridge. It started to pour down as we walked around to the bridge but by the time we were harnessed up and ready to go it had dried up and by the time we got to the summit of the bridge the sun was shining! It was an awsome experience looking down over the opera house.
The other big think we did in sydney was a day trip to the Blue Mountains. We left at 6.30am and it took 2 hours on the train but was well worth it. When we got there it was really quiet and we got unspoilt views of the mountains. We walked for most of the day and were knackered by the time we got back!
The next day we caught the night bus to Byron Bay and spent 3 nights in the surfing capital jusy chilling out and walking aloing the beach. On our last day there we went on a day trip to Nimbin - the sight of the original aquarius festival in 1973. It was one of the weirdest places iv ever been - i think everyone was actually high - and i wont forget it in a while!
The last 2 nights we have been in Brisbane. Not one of my favourite places so far but we had a really good day yesterday at the Line Pine Koala Santuary. As the name suggests its a nature sanctuary for koalas and lots of other indiginous australian animals, including wombats, crocodiles, kangaroos and dingos but it is mostly just Koalas! Its quite a small place and you are able to get really close to the animals. We spent ages watching a group of teenage koalas playing about being very naughty and managed to get some good videos and photos!
We got another early bus this morning to Noosa, which looks like a really nice place but its been raining so hard for most of the day that we havent really had the chance to see it properly yet!
Finger crossed the weather will clear up and we can go to Australia zoo in the next few days to see the big crocs!
Hope all is well back home?
We have had a few problems loading photos onto the site but we'll keep trying and hopefully get some up soon!
Lots of Love,
Ros and Rob xxx
