We decided to get out of the city and headed to the coast for the day to see a small town called Kamakura which has a lot of older sites to see. After getting a train there we went straight to Engakuji Temple which was 600 years old and was really nice.
From there we walked throught the town and went to Tsurugaoka shrine which was very colourful and there was a museum of national treasures beside it so we went there as well.
Then we took the train to Hase to see the great buddha, which was a huge buddha statue that you could climb inside. Our last stop of the day was Hasedera temple which was really impressive and even had a cave shrine built into the mountain side.
On the same day Japan were playing North Korea in a world cup qualifier which was great to watch on tv. We tried to get tickets but apparently its like England playing Scotland so it was a sell out. Looked amazing though.
