We went on a day trip from Tokyo to try and catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji but as the weather wasnt the clearest at this time of year we were unsure if we would be able to get a decent look! We took a bus from Sinjuku which took just under two hours to get us to a nearby lake that gives a good view of Mount Fuji, weather permitting that is. We took a cable car up to a view point that gave an amazing view of the clouds surrounding Mount Fuji which was a bit disappointing! We had a great view from the opposite side looking out over the lake which was nice so we decided to wait up in the freezing cold to see if the clouds would move round. Luckily for us the cloud cover shifted a short while after we arrived and we got a pretty good view of the impressive Mount Fuji. After a quick look we got a cable car back down and attempted to warm up a bit with some hot chocolate at a lake side cafe. The view was so nice we outstayed our welcome as we didn't realise that the woman (who didn't speak english) was trying to shut up shop. Oops! We had a look round a few of the tourist shops selling everything from postcards to chocolate Mount Fujis before heading back to the bus station to go home.
