27th July Ross and I visited the ruins of what was left of a Military Hospital in Merriden the town we have just spent two days at. As unbelievable as it may seem, at the height of World War ll an army hospital was based not near the fighting but at the base of a granite outcrop in WA's Wheatbelt. Saturday 21st July Today we arrived with great anticipation at Fraser Range Station and you wouldn't want to know they are in severe drought so no water and no Internet or phone connections and then to cap it all off Ross had trouble with the satellite dish. Monday 16th July We made our way to Ceduna where the days are warm (21c) On checking in they had some local oysters for sale so Ross had 1 dozen oysters as an entrée to dinner. We stayed for three nights and left there today to head towards the WA border which we should reach tomorrow. Wednesday 11th July "They're out" we heard this morning with great relief and joy This event in Thailand for the last two weeks or so has dominated all our thoughts. Every morning the TV or computer had to go on to see what had happened that day. Tears were shed when the boys their coach and their rescuers were finally all out of the horrible place. We left Halls Gap today. Because of the really cold and awful weather we spent a lot of time indoors instead of sight-seeing. Ross commented on this but said he had a really relaxing time.
