Hello!!!
Sorry i havent blogged in a while, have been ill (again), busy and internet is expensive here, so will have to give an update of the past few days. So Lee and I left Koh Tao and arrived in Koh Phagn Nan by boat. however i missed most of it as i have tonsilitis (for the second time on this trip), so slept through most of it, and the ensuing rickity van ride and then slept for the whole rest of the day. basically since i left hospital i have had various illnesses and infections, and today is the first day i havent taken any antibiotics since i left hospital. woopie. alhtough now i have an strange swelling on my ankle. odd. lets hope it goes away. I would just like to not be ill on this trip for once. Grr. anyway, we arrived and headed for Had Rin, a place which the book said 'if you want to party like an animail, go to Had Rin, if you want to sleep like a baby, go anywhere but Had Rin'. So we headed straight for Had Rin, only to find it a complete ghost town. it is apparently only busy when the full moon parties are taking place, and in beween (and since we are also out of season) it was dead. we stayed there two nights whilst i recoverred a bit and the next day we hired a moped to explore the island (dont worry mum, we insisted on having helmets). Lee was a natural at driving it, although i think it is safe to say i was not. in fact i was completely rubbish and nearly came off a few times. It was lots of fun though and we spent the whole day just driving round the island exploring. we even came across an elephant pl,ace and got to feed the elephants bananas which was cool. it is so much fun just zooming round on the motorbike, there is so much freedom (and no road rules) and you get to see a lot. we came across some beaches that were completely deserted, and so so beautiful. it made me decide that i am never going to book a package holiday again, just turning up at places and finding a nice bungalow on the beach for 6pounds with no one else on it is so easy out here. so the next day we decided to move accomodation to a place that had its own beach, and was really beautiful, and we got a bungalow for 6 pounds a night. not bad. so to get our stuff from one place to the other and take our first bike back, we decdied we would need to hire another motorbike (taxis dont really exist on the island), but after a bit more practice i decided i was still too much of a wimp to drive a motorbike on my own, as the roads are all mountainous with lots of nasty hills and bends and with huge potholes in some places, i just didnt feel confident to do the 45 minute run. so i hired a quad bike! oh my god, honestly, so much fun!!!!!! i zipped back on the quad and lee on the moped, then when we picked up our bags and dropped the original bike off and lee drove the quad back to our hotel. However Lee didnt find the quad so easy to drive and lets just say we had a little accident *MUM/RONNY DONT PANIC, I"M FINE*. beasically we drove off the road at the crest of a very steep hill and ended up in a ditch. the way we looked at it we were lucky as just up the road if we had done it there we would have driven off the cliff. so we ended up in the ditch, but both ok just a few cuts and bruises, and a nice local man came to help us out and get the bike going again. we got straight back on the bike and got going again. All ok save a few scrapes. So we got to our new place a little shaken but thankful that we were ok, and had a drink to celebrate our good fate. we even managed to take the quad back to the shop with out them noticing any damage. few. after me haveing more sleep we spent the rest of yesterday by the pool in the hotel. So today we left for Krabi, got a 3 hour boat ride (which i actually managed to stay awake for) and and 3 hour bus and taxi ride to krabi(which i didnt), where we transferred to a little town called Ao Nang, as we intend to get a boat to another beach place in the morning (which i cant remember the name of now!) But revelation for you all, i know, this is groundbraking news. I ATE CHEESE!!!!! i know, 25 years of refusing to eat the stuff and i finally did it! I had a whole slice of pizza, and i actually liked it! To be fair you couldnt taste the cheese at all, but i dont care, i ate cheese!!!!!! 25 years as a social outcast and now i can finally say i am one of you!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! dont get to excited, i dont think i am going to go putting parmesan on my pasta any time soon...
PS, for those of you that remember my random arm hair, it's back!! and even longer than before! i am aiming to grow it until i get back. bet you cant wait......!!!!
