Hello,
So we left Bangkok on friday evening, after seeing some funny sights in BK on Thursday night. we saw a street brawl between a ladyboy and a group of English guys, which all turned a bit ugly when the ladyboy started shouting (in the deepest voice i've ever heard on a supposed woman) 'why you say i have cock?' to the group of guys who obviously got more than they bargained for. she then smashed a beer bottle against the wall and waved the bottle neck in their faces. at that point we deceded it was time to leave bangkok. We got the over night bus and boat to Ko Tao, where i am now. We were told that the bus would leave at 6pm, and arrive at 10.30am. 3am (after i had taken a sleeping pill) we get dropped off at the side of the road, where the driver said nothing then drove off. we gues we have to wait for 3 hours for the ferry at 6am, but just as we were about to camp down for hte night on the side of the road, another bus turns up and picks us up, takes us to a waiting terminal for the ferry, so we sleep on the floor until 6am when we take a ferry to Ko Tao, which takes a couple of hours. Ko Tao is really beautiful and small island. it is mainly geared up for divers, which i am not that bothered about doing at the moment, so have just spent the past couple of days on the beach. It is really quiet, with not a lot to do unless you are diving which suits me fine it is nice just to chill on the beach for a bit. for those of you reading this at work right now, the beach is white, the sea blue and very warm, there are palm trees everywhere and the food is great. Ha. we are going to leave to head towards Ko Phagn Yan tomorrow i think.
It is so nice to be back in thailand, i cant tell you how much things are different compared to cambodia and vietnam. for a start ou dont get constantly hassled here, it is so quiet (people in veitnam and cambodia just sit there with their elbows on the horn), and the roads actually functoin in a normal manner. also people are a lot more willing to try and help if you get stuck. so enjoying being back in thailand, although i do also miss the craziness of vietnam.
So far i have not really been home sick, but at the moment i am really missing food from home. you can get western food everywhere, although i generally avoid it because its not great, but i miss makeing my own food the way i like it now. can someone cook me a roast dinner and send it to me? mmm that would be so nice, i'm really hungry right now. Saying that, i'm going for a barbque on the beach now, so cant complain.
Speak to you from Ko Phagn Yan!
