Hello let me tell you a little story about my friend. She is a very nice girl. I love her a lot. Once she went camping out in the desert in Wadi Rum Jordan. I am going to pass on the story to you then you can tell other people and it keeps on going on and on and on!
So at first she was really scared then she was really really exited then she got really scared again when she saw how the camels get up. What they do is they put their back legs up so that their back legs are standing up and you're literally leaning forwards. She said that was really scary and I believe her. But then by the time she was up there she loved it and she had a great feeling! Then she got scared again because her mother's camel that was attached to hers was half way dead already and she was thinking that if her mothers camel fell that hers would too. Then there was a big wind come by and her sister's hat fell off and sand went in her eyes and she realized why everyone wears head scarfs there in the desert that can be pulled over their faces. The next thing she knew she had a different feeling and she felt sad because it was time to get off after all that excitement she had. She was sad to get off.
THEN… came the first time she ever set foot in a van that had no roof! A jeep! She went over sand dunes and it reminded her of a roller coaster! She drove in that no-roofed van over those sand dunes and loved it - it was so much fun. She did a little touring and almost fainted because she saw a tree in the middle of the desert. But that was only because there was water there but really you would never think that you would see a just one tree in the desert! The next little touring spot was her favorite. It was a red sand dune so giant when she needed to climb up, it was very tiring. As she climbed up she kept stopping and looking up to the top. She didn't think there was much left but really there was a while to go, but once she finally got to the top she was so excited to go down. She loved going down the dune because she ran and slid all the way down. She wanted to do it again but not really because it was hard to get back up, the long long hill.
Then my friend, oh - I forgot to tell you her name is Rosie, well yes Rosie, and her family, they freshened up and settled down at their campsite for dinner. Rosie and her family got their own little dinner nook and the campground people made a nice Middle Eastern bedoin style dinner where the have a low table and you just sit on cushions on the floor. Then it started to get dark. They have a generator that makes the lights go on at 7 and then they turn off at 9. When the lights turn off that's when everybody goes to bed. An engineer guy she knows explained that the camp uses their own generator to make electricity because they are in the middle of the desert, away from the town. When the camp shuts the generator off, everything goes dark except for a few lamps near the bathroom and some candles. The bathroom was literally made from the rock made out of a cave in the rock.
In the morning when they all woke up and were getting to leave they had some nice spices that weren't spicy. What they did was take the spices and put some olive oil with it and then put that on some bread. Rosie said she really liked it a lot and it was very very tasty. Then, just before you know it, the van with no roof pulled up and brought Rosie and her family on a nice ride home to a van with a roof where they continued her journey to the Dead Sea. Come back later to hear more of the journey.
