Yesterday I arrived at a new country, Japan! As the Japanese call their self-Nippon.
When we are in japan my family and I are going to travel around in different places.
Today we arrived at Hakone (that's in japan.) but…
We didn't just magically appear in Hakone we had a long day just to get there. We started in Tokyo then we took a train. The next thing you know we are in another train. We take a lot of trains but at least my Dad said no buses. We got on another train and when I was on that train I fell right down onto my Mommy's leg straight away I was tired! Next thing you know Mommy is waking me up so we can jump on to what the Japanese called a cable car but the Americans and British call a tram. I was the only one that wanted to sit on a seat, my family members didn't know what they were missing out on, I mean there were heaters inside the seat!
Then we had to go onto a gondola because the ground is so bumpy no cars can go there! My family and I were really lucky because there were really big gondolas so more than one family would go into 1 gondola, but since our family had SIX BAGS and 5 PEOPLE we got our own gondola! There were two section of the gondola. One we put all the bags in, the other we put our selves in. p.s. we were carrying our bags the whole way. On the very cool gondola ride I saw Mt. Fuji. Mt. Fuji is a volcano in japan. It is a big cone with snow on the top of it. My mom thinks that it might still be able to erupt because there was hot steam coming out of the mountains all around it. Anyway, then I got off the gondola and hopped onto a boat. The boat was designed like a pirate boat there was even a lady dressed up like a pirate! Then we got off the boat and my Dad gave me his phone and I lead my family all the way to the hotel. My Dad planned this and he planned for us to sleep on a futon and have a room full of tatami mats. Tatami mats are mats that are made out of bamboo wood and a futon is a really small mattress. We have one room and it has a really low table and like chairs were its like your sitting on a cushion! When we got there we had some time then we had dinner. P.s. I forgot before dinner a lady gave us yukata and help us put it on. A yukata is a Japanese robe where you only wear underwear. So we went to dinner in our yukatas and at dinner we had our own really small table and those same chair! Then we went in a public bath were everybody goes in naked! But we were the only ones there. Then you get a shower. But not just an ordinary shower, you sit on a stool and look in a mirror and spray yourself with a hose! Then we went back up to our room and by that time the lady in the kimono and deer feet made up our bed (on the floor). I thought her deer feet were so cool I had to take a picture of them. My Mom says they are not really deer feet. But they look that way to me because she wears socks that have a split in the middle and her big toe goes on 1 half and her other 4 little toes go on the other half. This makes them look like deer feet because you know how deer have a split in their little hooves.
The end
