We arrived in L.A at about 9 oclock in the night after a short 6 hour flight from New York. We had to get a bus to downtown L.A and then get a metro tram to Hollywood. Lucky for us our hostel was opposite the station and in a great location on Hollywood Boulevard right by the Kodak Thetre and the walk of fame on our doorstep. But straight to bed it was for us as we didnt get to the hostel until 12ish. We were in a 4 bedded mixed dorm but for our whole 5 nights here we didnt have a single visitor and enjoyed a room to ourselves. After a good nights sleep we were up and out very early to Santa Monica as we were excited to see the sun! it took about an hour on a bus to get there and this was to be our main place to go in L.A as the beach was huge, as we first went onto the beach straight away we noticed some dolphins in the water which was cool! Sunbathed 4 a while then had a scout down to Venice beach aka Muscle beach which was to be fair full of absolute nutters! and stank of drugs because in L.A on nearly every corner they have these cannabis doctors!!!! U can get it on prescription??!!!!. After a long day at the beach we did the walk of fame (stars on the floor) in the night and went to see Graumans Chinese Theatre (foot + hand prints of celebs) and the Kodak theatre where the oscars are held. The following day we went abit further field and went on a bus tour of the city, it was absolutley boiling about 36oc! We saw pretty much everything, universal studios, city walk, downtown L.A, chinatown, staples centre, beverly hills, rodeo drive, sunset strip, paramount studios, hollywood famous cemetary and a few other sites from famous films. we both ended up filthy by the end of it though from all the smog in the air getting us on the open top bus.....bad pollution on freeway. That night we went to the famous hotel roosevelt and had literally 1 drink each!!!! 15 dollars for 2 of the tinniest cans of corona man has ever seen! was mint in there tho, felt like celebs lol next to the pool. The next 2 days we had some more well needed beach time, at Santa Monica again and Malibu. We saw Kelly Osborne drive past whilst we were waitin 4 a bus. Malibu beach was nice but very small. But was cool to see all the lovely beachfront condos. Had a pretty early night that evening as we were heading to vegas at 6 in the morning. Did our first laundry run though which went suprisingly well.
