Joe returned this morning from Thailand. I met him at the airport and solicitously said that he would probably want to have a shower and a sleep after a 24 hour flight. But not a bit of it! He went straight from the airport to Manchester centre where he had a 9 am interview to appear on a programme called Shipwrecked, a reality TV show of the Big Brother ilk, which apparently requires contestants to lure each other from one island to another. He went off l with his (Tesco Value and remarkably resilient) rucksack in order to look the part, I assume.
I'm so looking forward to your return too next month. Make the most of the time you have left.

Hi guys,
Just to say enjoy America and to ask you to ignore Nick's comment to Joe about me. Cheeky devil.

Hi everyone,
Sorry for not having kept the blog too up to date in the last week or so, we had too much to do on the beaches of Fiji.
We made it safely to LA on Sunday afternoon and are now settled nicely in West Hollywood, after roughing it for a night in Inglewood first up.
We've just been out for a tour of LA's rich and famous and will probably hit the Sunset Strip tonight. Two more nights to go before we head to San Diego.
Blogs and photos to follow when we find a better computer.
Take care.
John
Hi
You seem to have enjoyed NZ immensely, judging from the blog and pics. More interesting and varied than Oz? Ste says he would prefer to go to the latter as the weather is better - perhaps the pics reflect this with the Land of the Long White Cloud living up to its reputation.
You seem to have picked all the best places to go and to have experienced all the highlights. Silly question: just wondering how you choose what to do and where to go. I suppose that's where your Rough Guide Books come in. Being philosophical, that's what I could do with - A Rough Guide for Me... or a Rough Guide to being a Middle Aged Man! Might suggest it to the publishers; could make someone a fortune! Any suggestions from anyone for chapter headings! Perhaps the first one could be: How to Avoid Being Knackered Especially at the End of the Week. Ignore me - I've obviously had a bad week at the office! (Kath has just suggested the second chapeter could be, "How to avoid making silly comments on blogs". Ok I take the hint.
We have not heard from you for a bit so I presume that Fiji is not that hi tech but with beaches like it's got who needs hi-tech?
Good luck for your flight to LA, tho' I suppose you will have got there by the time you read this.

Hi Rosa & Kev - sounds like you're having a great time. Just to let you know Janet & Philip gave superb service aboard The Great Escape as cook and chief engineer respectively. As already referenced, we can't match your intrepid tales but our adentures did include a kayak, a couple of meat pies and the Notts Fire Brigade.
Enjoy the last tage of your trip in the US.
Lots of love,
K&M xx

Seasick Steve now major player at Glastonbury. Headlining on the Acoustic Stage on Friday and on Pyramid Stage (not headline) on Saturday. Must be the most money he's ever made.

Just caught up with my latest fix of the Rosa and Kev antics whilst babysitting - really enjoyed the blogs! As for the flying video - awesome! Really pleased that you are still having so much fun (can you hear the jealousy creep in at the end there!) Start my new job this thursday - cannot wait - even prepared to sacrifice the french sunshine! Have a fantastic time in Fiji/States and look forward to catching up soon! Take care both xxx

Hello Rosa & Kev,
Just to let you know that we are back from our narrow boating trip. The stretch of the Chesterfield Canal between West Stockwith and Retford provided remarkably little in the way of scuba diving opportunities; fjords or sounds of any description; swimming with dolphins or glaciers to climb. Therefore we cannot compete with you in words or photos. However, it was sunny, for the most part, extremely relaxing and good fun. It took us half an hour by car to drive the route it had taken us a week to navigate by boat but the slow pace has much to commend it.
Will e-mail properly soon. Hope you have successfully met up with Becky and are enjoying Fiji.
Love

Hi there - just a quickie from Singapore airport, got 3 hours to kill before next leg of journey home- left Solomons Sat midday, and met an old friend for an evening back in Brisbane. Have you heard Joe's just up the road in Thailand - is there anyone left in Blighty?? Not looking forward to being back at work - and that's after just 3 weeks, imagine how you're going to feel!
I took about 400 photos in my week in Solomons, going for some kind of record...
Lots of luv Ali xxxx
