It turned out that Jason did not need to work so today we were able to catch a bit of a lie in and off to see 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1'. Jason met me at the bottom of Spencer Street. As Vanessa is not a fan of Harry Potter…...I guess there has to be one……she did not come with us. We walked to the Casino as it has a decent big screen and cheap Tuesday tickets. Needless to say I loved the movie. I am a fan and really am glad they have decided to do this book in two parts. I always thought the two previous books should have been done in two parts also. I won't put any spoilers in for those people reading this blog from the Third world, or Saudi Arabia, or any other place with no cinemas (as I can not think of any other reason why a person would leave it this long to see the movie). After the movie it was off to meet Vanessa and go to the Human Body Exhibition at Docklands.
This is the other main thing I wanted to do in Melbourne. It is the exhibition based on the anatomy preservation technique developed by Günter Von Hagen (not sure of spelling). It was incredibly interesting and set out in a way that was creative without being macabre. The majority of the displays were animals, but there were a few human examples. I guess having the same reality with humans could be very confronting. Even the series Günter did on TV always had the faces covered in Plaster of Paris masks. But I really enjoyed it and was glad Jason and Vanessa did also. After the exhibition we made our way back into the city for a late lunch at a trendy little Italian restaurant in a lane which Vanessa suggested. Great pasta, an excellent choice and nice finish to the day.
