Hello All, hope you are well. I'm sunburnt to hell (It's Lee obviously) Anyway La Paz!
La Paz is an amazing city, crazy, hectic, fast, insaine. We are over a week behind on our blog so sorry if you are confused. We stayed in La Paz for 3 nights and in that time we had a great time we went to the Hard Rock Caffe, We were upset though as they didn't have any T shirts. Booooo. We walked around in the Witches market and the Black market, which are really cool. Now parents we did not tell you that we were going to do this but we can tell you now as we made it........ We cycled the 'Road of Death'.
Now this `ROAD OF DEATH' is 64k on a bike on the side of a cliff on rocky gravel. Oh yes I leanne Sutton did this...... Do not ask me why, i would never do it again i thought i would die.... Bless Rob he stayed with me the whole time even though i kept my back break on the whole time and i was Shi++ing myself, and always right at the back of the group. I have never in my life been so terrified. But we can now say we did it and we have the T-shirts saying 'Death Road Survivor'. I now know what fear is...
Apart from the fear factor....(Only on my account as Rob would do it again in a flash, but not with me... Matt you would have loved it.)
It was an amazing day we started off at 4100 meters above sea level (Freezing) and ended at 1000 meters (Boiling). At the bottom of the ROAD OF DEATH was a tropical climate it was so hot. we went to a hotel with a pool and hot showers and a huge buffet which was amazing, and badly needed..... But after all that we had to get back on the bus to go back to Freezing cold La Paz BOOOOOO..... So we got back about 8 that night and all of us were in bed by 9.00 we were shattered, in pain and generally drained.
La Paz really is a cool place but you cant really stay much longer than 4 days, it really is crazy. The next point of call is Cusco Peru. Exciting....
