It was sad to leave Greenland yesterday after a wonderful experience in a very remote area. We are both still marveling at what we have done, the climatic conditions and the sheer challenge of the harsh environment. The flight from Constable Point was un-eventful and we were soon back in at the Raddison Blue Saga Hotel in Reykjavik, had our first shower for 5 days, a nice meal at the restaurant and lots of laughs and talking about our adventure. We woke after another night "on the boards" of the cabin. There was a white-out with visibility only about 150 metres. Temperature minus 8 degrees. The dogs must have known that it was the last day as they were particularly excited this morning. The hitch up was even more frantic. Of course we are sitting on the sled while they are being hitched. One dog decided he liked the look of me and came and peed down my leg as it was hanging over the sides of the sled. ...

Today was an adventure day. We will stay at the same cabin tonight and do some adventuring around this area. The temperature was minus 11, but again no wind and virtually a cloudless sky-another perfect day. The visitors book in the cabin highlights the special nature of this area and it is also a popular place to visit in summer time when the ocean thaws and ice flows and icebergs abound.
